HERNDON, Va., Jan 26, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Washington Gas Energy Services, Inc. (WGES), a leading competitive supplier of electricity and natural gas to business and residential customers in the Mid-Atlantic region, announced today that it is expanding its footprint to include Pennsylvania and has begun making offers to customers located in the PPL Electric Utilities service territory. WGES' offers provide savings and alternative energy options to Pennsylvania customers.
Residential customers in the PPL territory may choose a fixed price of 9.3 cents per kilowatt hour through their January 2010 meter reading. This is a unique and distinctive offer because it is not only one of the lowest priced options - at more than 10% lower than PPL's Price to Compare - it also includes 5% clean, renewable wind power harvested from wind farms located in the mid-Atlantic region.

Commercial customers also have options. WGES works with larger commercial customers to develop customized electricity products to meet their individual electricity needs. Standard options available to small commercial customers include a one, two, or three-year fixed price of 9.7 cents per kilowatt hour that includes 3.5% local wind power. In addition, they can choose renewable options including 50% or 100% local wind power and should visit the company's website at www.wges.com to review all available offers.
